Mangaluru: Noble cause marks Nativity celebrations at LCS

Mangaluru, Sep 12: The Lourdite family, on Thursday September 7, celebrated the feast of Nativity of Mary with the intention of sensitising students towards the have - nots ofthe society. Students not only participated in the celebrations by offering flowers to mother, but also participated in the collection drive conducted to collect provisions for the inmates of the Sieona Ashram, Belthangady.

The celebration began with a short and meaningful progamme at Lourdes Central School grounds. Anchor, Mansi of class V C, kept the LCS family knit together with her beautiful words. Nishna of class V eloquently described the significance of the day. Followed by the traditional practice of offering flowers to Maria Bambina, the students gathered devoutly and showered flowers on Mother Mary for her birthday

 

















Later the Christian students participated in the Eucharistic celebration at Bejai church.

Principal Fr Robert D’Souza in his message mentioned that the Nativity of Mother Mary was a day to celebrate the girl child. "The men folk have to honour and appreciate her," he added. He also stressed the importance of families coming together to celebrate the feast and keep family ties alive.

The festive celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets to children.
