Mangaluru, Sep 23: A youth was on Saturday September 23 arrested for allegedly molesting a foreign student at Deralakatte here.

It is alleged that the 19-year-old Mohammed Mustafa tried followed an 18-year-old German student when she was walking down a path, waylaid and molested her.

The German girl was on a visit to an ashram at Panir here for research.

The girl raised an alarm, after which locals caught hold of the youth and beat him up.

He was then handed over to the Ullal police, who arrested him.

The family of the youth has claimed that Mustafa is mentally unstable and that there are documents to prove that he had been receiving treatment at Wenlock hospital.

Ullal police have registered a case.

If he is mentally unstable, then why family allowed him on roads? Is it to endanger life of people? Truth should come out and severe punishment for this idiot. In India, rapists and criminals don't get punishment as laws are very liberal. These guys should not be allowed to hire a lawyer. Should be executed immediately.

" She was walking down a path, waylaid and molested her"
Metally sick but after noticing a foreign girl all his senses started working
Does he react in a similar way with his relatives, or known people? Make a thorough study of his sickness and charge him accordingly. Too much..

It is an utter shame for the relatives of the 19-year-old youth to allow that idiot to be on the road. I feel sorry for the German student who was molested by that youth and she raised an alarm for the public to beat up the crazy guy.

She is lucky that there were locals around who could hear her cries for help! If he is mentally unstable, then he should be locked up in a mental institute and given treatment, not let lose on the streets to terrorize women

How difficult it is to get a medical certificate claiming his mental stability in a country like INDIA. This reason is just an escape strategy and hope govt takes a strict action to avoid such incidents in future

Very embarassing and shameful.when the student returns to her place and reveal the incident, thats more embarrassing to us who reside here.People will start asking us ,about it.I just cant understand why such a sick person under therapy,is moving about without any guide? .and why he is absolutely not in klinik.?Hope he will be now treated within klinik.

If his hospital records prove true then humanitarian angle must open up...
All is in the mind of human...
When own mind is not in control it is not he who is doing the crime...
Let the law take its own course... But with compassion and consideration...

This is an appropriate response before handing over to police, and a clear message for others for any such behaviour, mentally stable or not.
