Connect the unconnected, serve the unserved: Aruna Sundararajan

New Delhi, Sep 27 (IANS): The government has chalked out a four-pronged agenda spanning the digital vision it has for the country, an official said on Wednesday.

"The government vision spans in four axis. First, to connect the unconnected and serving the unserved. Second, to ensure every Indian has access to the best product and services," Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, said while addressing the India Mobile Congress here.

"Thirdly, Make in India. We need to generate jobs and, finally, can we, putting all these things together, become global telecom leaders?"

She said the mobile phone is way beyond just a handset now. It connects people to the world.
