Mangaluru: No Padayatra, Amit Shah to participate in state BJP discussions

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (PMD)

Mangaluru, Sep 28: National president of Bharatiya Janata Party, Amit Shah, will arrive in the city on Wednesday, October 4. But there will be no Padayatra as planned.

The rectification came after fervid discussions among the BJP leaders about organising Padayatra in the city during the party president's visit, under his leadership, to register protest against the state government on various issues including killing of Hindu activists.

Sources claim that Shah will not be taking part in Padayatra, but he will take part in other programmes in the city as already announced.

Shah is scheduled to attend two programmes hosted by the party in the city. He will have a meeting with the state BJP leaders, in which B S Yeddyurappa, Ananth Kumar, Jagadish Shettar, K S Eshwarappa and other leaders will participate.

Shah will also hold discussions with experts in different spheres and prominent personalities, in the evening at TMA Pai auditorium.

A day prior, on Tuesday October 3, Shah is scheduled to inaugurate Kerala BJP's Janarakshane Yatra that will start in Kannur and culminate at Thiruvananthapuram.

    Let Amit read the following:

"Private investment has shrunk as never before in two decades, industrial production has all but collapsed, agriculture is in distress, construction industry, a big employer of the work force, is in the doldrums, the rest of the service sector is also in the slow lane, exports have dwindled, sector after sector of the economy is in distress, demonetisation has proved to be an unmitigated economic disaster, a badly conceived and poorly implemented GST has played havoc with businesses and sunk many of them and countless millions have lost their jobs with hardly any new opportunities coming the way of the new entrants to the labour market."
