Alcatel launches affordable 'U5 HD' smartphone at Rs 5,999


New Delhi, Oct 4 (IANS): Smartphone maker Alcatel on Wednesday launched new affordable smartphone "U5 HD" at Rs 5,999 that will be available on Flipkart.

The device with 5-inch HD display sports 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera along with flash.

"With the new Alcatel 'U5 HD', first-time smartphone buyers can now enjoy a crisp and clear viewing experience on a 5-inch HD display andsome really fun camera features," said Praveen Valecha, Regional Director, Alcatel India, in a statement.

The HD IPS display gives an immersive viewing experience making the visuals look better than ever. The user can enjoy crystal clear videos on their U5 HD.

"This smartphone is designed to give our valued customers the power to get the most out of every moment -- all with an appealing price tag," Valecha added.

The device has 16GB internal memory combined with 2GB RAM.

Powered by Android Nougat and apart from VoLTE-enabled, "U5 HD" is also ViLTE (Videos over LTE)-enabled. allowing users to enjoy video calls without any interruption. 

"U5 HD" comes with innovative battery saving features. The pre-installed antivirus keeps the phone away from harmful viruses.
