Hot and humid weather continues to grip UP


Lucknow, Oct 9 (IANS): Hot and humid weather conditions continued to prevail in most parts of Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

While the weather was muggy in some eastern parts of the state, scorching sun continued to be a cause of great distress.

Regional Met Office Director J.P. Gupta, however, said that it would be cloudy by the evening, adding that there was a chance of rain on Tuesday.

The humidity was hovering at around 70 per cent which is a bit less from the previous days giving some relief to the people. The minimum temperature in Lucknow on Monday was recorded at 22 degrees Celsius while the maximum was expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Varanasi was recorded at 20 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature in Kanpur settled at 21 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Jhansi was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature in Allahabad settled at 25 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Gorakhpur was recorded at 22 degrees Celsius.
