Kasargod's Yakshagana puppets find place in American museums

Kasargod, Oct 9: Two Yakshagana puppets of world renowned Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Bombeyata Sangha have found a place in a museum in America. Artworks representing different countries of the world can be found in Center of Puppetry Arts Inc in California established in 1978. Dusshasana and Abhimanyu puppets of Karantaka can also be found there.

Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Bombeyata Sangha has received international recognition for holding art presentations in several places in the world. It has spread to the area of art lovers and won several awards. It has taken special initiative to preserve the ancient art and introduce it to the new generation. Puppets prepared under the leadership of K V Ramesh are attractive and are in huge demand.

Yakshagana puppets of Kasargod have found their way in several museums in the country and abroadin countries like Poland, Turkey, Pakistan, China, Germany, Australia, Czechoslovakia and Indonesia.
