Mumbai, Jun 14: The Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) organized a lecture on ‘Turn to Nature’, at Hotel Atithi, Vile Parle (E) on Friday, June 13. The programme focused on how one can improve health and well-being with the help of nature.
Fr M Britto Joseph S J, Catholic Jesuit priest, naturopath, and founder of the departments of naturopathy and homeopathy in the Holy Family hospitals of Delhi and Patna, delivered the lecture.
Naturopathy advocates gentle methods of curing common ailments like digestive disorders, hepatitis, diabetes, high blood pressure, and other cardio-vascular problems, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, allergies, respiratory problems, and immune disorders. Awareness about specific health benefits of various foods and following simple natural principles that can be incorporated into a busy lifestyle, can bring wonderful benefits.
Vincent Mathias, Chairman of CCCI, gave the welcome address and honoured Fr Joseph. John D’Silva, and Henry Lobo, vice-presidents of CCCI were present on the dais. S K Swamy, CCCI executive secretary, introduced the guests and compered the programme while Alphonsus Corda, working secretary of CCCI proposed the vote of thanks.
George D’Souza Orlem, Joseph Menezes, and Harry Rebello, Lawrence Coelho, Antony Sequeira, Johnson Therattil, Randolph Alves, John Mathew, Augustino G Fernandes, Agnelo Rajesh Athaide, and Pius Vas were also present.
