Dentist Talwars to visit Dasna jail every fortnight to check inmates

New Delhi, Oct 16: Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, the dentist couple acquitted of murdering their daughter Aarushi Talwar, will walk out of jail on Monday afternoon.

However, the couple has assured the jail authorities to return to the prison’s dental clinic every fortnight to attend to the jail inmates who need dental treatment.

In the last four years, the Talwar’s who were lodged in Dasna jail, helped revive the almost 'defunct' dental department in the prison. They were treating prisoners, staff and families of the staff who were happy with their services.

"We were concerned about the fate of our dental department after their release. They have assured us that they would visit jail to attend to inmates every 15 days even after their release," said jail doctor Sunil Tyagi.

The prison authorities have also tied up with a Ghaziabad-based dental college to manage the rush at the prison clinic after the release of Talwar’s.

Although the Talwar’s were supposed to be released on Friday, their release was delayed as Dasna jail authorities did not receive a copy of the verdict last week. The signed copy was received by Talwar’s lawyers on the weekend and submitted to CBI court in Ghaziabad. The couple will be released after CBI court issues an order to Dasna prison.

The Talwar’s are likely to visit the Sai temple in Noida and will later go to Nupur’s parent’s home as their own home, where Aarushi was murdered has been given on rent.
