Dollar changes hands in early trade in Tokyo


Tokyo, Oct 17 (IANS): The US dollar changed hands in the lower 112 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Tuesday, largely unchanged from its levels seen overnight in New York.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 112.19-20 yen compared with 112.14-24 yen in New York and 111.72-73 yen at 5 p.m. on Monday in Tokyo, Xinhua reported.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1794-1794 and 132.32-33 yen against 1.1791-1801 dollars and 132.30-40 yen in New York and 1.1793-1795 dollars and 131.75-79 yen in late Monday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
