100 fans stolen from MP hospital

Bhopal, Oct 17 (IANS): At least 100 fans were stolen from a government hospital in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district, police said.

According to the hospital's civil surgeon J.S. Trivedi, during renovation of the medical and children's ward, 100 old fans were removed and kept in the store room, from where they were later stolen.

Trivedi told police they were informed about the theft by the electrician.

Police station chief Sanjay Mishra said they were probing the matter.

In 2015, this hospital was selected as the best renovated hospital, but incidents of theft have become common.

A few days back, an air-conditioning cable worth over Rs 1 lakh was stolen from the maternity ward.

The hospital's security responsibility has been given to a private security agency, which costs Rs 2 lakh a month.
