Karkala, Jun 16: The Catholic community of Our Lady of Fathima Church, Mundkur held a felicitation programme to honour Karakala MLA Gopala Bhandary on Sunday June 15. A small but politically vibrant community of Mundkur parish was eagerly waiting for the results of the elections and when the results were out, they fixed a felicitation programme to honour their MLA.

On his part Bhandary was kind enough to honour their request and accept their felicitation. On Sunday soon after the Mass whole congregation gathered in the hall and the proposed programme was held. Fr Elias D’Souza, the parish priest, felicitated the MLA.  In his speech Bhandary thanked audience for voting him to victory and assured to help the community whenever he is approached.

Along with the MLA, Remedia D’Souza, Skekhar  Madival, the former APMC president and Baptist D’Souza , vice-president of the Church were present on the dais. Avil D’Sozua welcomed the audience and Jacintha D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
