Mangalore, Jun 17: Shell-MRPL (Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited) Aviation Fuels & Services Pvt Ltd, last week signed a two-year contract to supply Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) to India’s premier airline, Jet Airways at the new Bangalore and Hyderabad airports.
Sanjay Varkey, CEO Shell-MRPL Aviation said, “Shell-MRPL Aviation is delighted to be chosen as the ATF supplier to Jet Airways in the new Bangalore and Hyderabad airports. This marks the beginning of our commercial partnerships with airlines in India. We look forward to partnering with other airlines in the country in coming months.”
Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO Jet Airways, said, “Jet Airways is pleased to enter into a partnership with Shell-MRPL Aviation for the supply of its fuel needs in Bangalore and Hyderabad. The recently-formed joint venture company between Shell and MRPL leverages Shell Aviation’s global brand, network, customer base and stringent quality control procedures and MRPL’s expertise and high quality products to provide a compelling, co-branded refueling offer locally to Indian and International airlines.

Shell-MRPL Aviation Fuels & Services Pvt Ltd is a 50:50 Joint Venture Company formed between Shell, a global leader in marketing aviation fuel and operating airport fuelling facilities, and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, one of the largest producers of jet fuel in India. The company will market and supply aviation fuels to domestic and international airlines in India, beginning with the Hyderabad and Bangalore airports initially and other airports in the country at a later stage.
