Puttur: Industrial visit programme held at St Philomena College

Puttur, Oct 26: The department of PG studies in Economics, St Philomena College organized an industrial visit programme on October 21.

Under the programme, students of the department visited CAMPCO, chocolate factory of Puttur. Junior welfare officer of the HR department Radhesh explained the working of the factory. He said, “The Campco is one of the India’s most modern chocolate manufacturing co-operatives. It has diverse products. This factory aims at helping the farmers by procuring more and more areca and cocoa, then utilizing them in manufacturing chocolates.” He also explained the incorporation, background, objectives and functions of various departments.

Junior operator Shivaprasad Kamath demonstrated the technological devices used in processing and manufacturing of chocolates.

This programme was organized by the department to acquire practical knowledge about the working of an industrial unit. The faculty members of the department Mahitha Kumari M and Sandhya H coordinated the programme.
