Mangaluru: Unity in diversity highlighted at AIMIT Diwali programme

Mangaluru, Oct 26: St Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology, on Wednesday, October 25, celebrated Deepavali, with a  number of people from the Kotekar panchayat and the surroundings of AIMIT campus.

The programme was organised in collaboration with Dharmika Sauharda Vedike, AIMIT, and St Aloysius College.

K Sukumar Rao, president, Dharmika Sauharda Vedike, Kotekar presided over the function.


    


















































Fr Denzil Lobo, director, AIMIT, led the gathering through a prayer service. All those gathered, joined him in singing the Bajan. Readings from the sacred scriptures Bhagavad-Gita, Quran and Bible followed.

Guests, K Jayaram  Shetty, former MLA, Fr Pradeep Sequeira, finance officer of St Aloysius College, Mangaluru and former rector of St Joseph’s seminary, and Mohammed Kunhi, from Shanthi Prakashan Mangaluru, delivered a Deepavali message.

The cultural programe by hostel students highlighted the ethnic diversity and unity of India.
