Mangalore, Jun 19: Dakshina Kannada District Women's Congress Committee staged a protest in front of the deputy commissioner's office here on Thursday June 19 morning, demanding a thorough investigation of Padmapriya's death. In a memorandum submitted to the state home minister through the district deputy commissioner signed by its president Mamata D S Gatti, the committee has demanded for his answers to the following questions posed by it, in connection with the case.
1. Who abandoned the car near Kunjarugiri, Padmapriya or someone else? To whom do the pieces of green bangles found scattered in the car belong?
2. Home minister and the chief minister of the state had issued statements confirming that Padmapriya was safe. If this was true, why was she left alone without arranging for her parents to stay with her?
3. Who were the three people who visited the apartments at Delhi? Has the name of Padmapriya been noted in the records of the apartments?
4. Raghupathi Bhat states that Padmapriya committed suicide. Padmapriya's brother claims it to be a case of murder? Which of these statements is true?
5. Why were media persons not allowed in while breaking open the door after the lady allegedly hanged herself?
6. Is investigation also aimed towards finding out the possibility of Atul along with Raghupathi Bhat having committed this murder?
Agitators further said that if home minister Dr V S Acharya fails to answers these questions, it will become clear that he has been extending help to cover up the episode.
