Bengaluru: Six Chikkaballapur civic body members quit JD(S), join Congress

Bengaluru, Oct 27: Six prominent members of the Chikkaballapur City Municipal Council belonging to JD(S) have quit the party and joined the ruling Congress party in Bengaluru on Friday, October 27.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President Dr G Parameshwara admitted the six members of the Chikkaballapur civic body into the Congress party at his residence under the leadership of Chikkaballapur Congress MLA, Dr K Sudhakar on Friday morning.

The six members of the Chikkaballapur civic body with their ward numbers mentioned in brackets are Srinivas (8), NagarathnaYatheesh (16), Jayamma (20), ShwethaManjunath (22), Bharathi Anand (23) and Bharathidevi (27).

The six civic body members, who were elected on the JD(S) symbol, said they were impressed by the leadership and developmental works undertaken by Dr Sudhakar during the last four and half years and promised to work for the success of the Congress party in the coming assembly elections.
