M'luru: Madeleine PU College, Bethany High School Mulki hold Sports Day

Mangaluru, Oct 28: “We have to work hard for the first 25 years of our life and then enjoy the future,” said MLC Ivan D’Souza, on Friday, October 27, to students at Madeleine PU College and Bethany High School, Mulki.

He presided over the annual Sports Day function.

The superior of Madeleine convent, Sr Nanditha, principal of Madeleine PU College, Sr Jessy Crasta, headmistress of Bethany High School Sr Veena D’Souza and director of Karvali Development Authority were present on the dais.







The function was also attended by the Representatives of the PTA John Quadros and Lydia Furtado.

The welcome address was delivered by Donita Fernandes, lecturer, Madeleine PU College. The vote of thanks was delivered by Yashomathi, teacher, Bethany High School. The programme was compered by Vishanth Shetty, lecturer, Madeleine PU College, Mulki.

The Sports Day began with a spectacular march-past accompanied by Bethany Primary and High School Band. Flag-bearers and captains, along with their teams marched smartly and put up their best show for the spectators.

House Captains took an oath of participating in the events in the true spirit of sportsmanship. Various track and field events were held throughout the day. All athletes and winners were cheered enthusiastically by their teammates.

The eventful Sports Day, a day when the blooming buds got to march on the red carpet, came to a close with the lowering of the college flag.
