Mangaluru, Oct 28: The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. The Apostolic Carmel congregation way back in the year 2007 dreamt of having a CBSE school in the outskirts of Mangaluru at Maryhill. They chiseled this dream of theirs with only two tools – faith in the Almighty and courage to pursue it. Thus was born Mount Carmel Central School in 2008. Their dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.
October 27 was not just another day for MCCS. It was a day to remember and place it on record. Yes! Sr Carmel Rita made her first official visit after she assumed the office as provincial superior, though she was the principal of Mount Carmel in its initial stage.
The provincial superior Sr Carmel Rita and the provincial bursar Sr Linet D’Souza were warmly welcomed by Poornakumbha Swagatham at the school entrance.
The programme commenced by invigorating the audience with divine strength through a short prayer service. The welcome extended from claps, to words, and to expression-dance which was indeed a befitting welcome. Sr Melissa, the principal in her words of welcome cited, "Sr Carmel Rita our provincial superior is a leader in the service of people with the main qualities of an able administrator and an inspirer."
The endeavours MCCS achieved were proudly presented through a power point presentation. The cultural programme was a blend of talent, values, culture and confidence.
Sr Carmel Rita saw it all, heard it all and when it was her time to say it all, she came on to the stage as quick as her feet could bring her up. Her heart was over flowing with mixed emotions of pride, joy and gratitude to put forth her message of love, passion, practice and responsibility through parables which sunk in every student and staff. She appreciated and applauded the performance.
Caroline came on stage with a grateful heart to deliver the vote of thanks. The MCs of the day Fanny and Mahindra, both of Class XI signed off with great sense of belongingness and satisfaction.
Later part of the day was called for a staff meeting with Sr Carmel Rita, when each staff became a student. The serene, disciplined atmosphere, the dignified look, above all the eagerness to listen was indeed a sight worth watching. Sister addressed the Campus Staff with words of appreciation for working towards quality and innovation.
She urged the staff of both the institutions Mount Carmel and Vijaymari Technical Institute to remain dedicated in their noble profession and to pursue the passion with the virtue above all virtues “Love and Service”, because this was the very foundation on which the Foundress Venerable Mother Veronica founded the Congregation of the Apostolic Carmel.
