Mangaluru, Oct 29: MCC chief whip Shashidhar Hegde and running party corporators alleged that BJP is facing a shortage of issues for blaming MCC administration. Day by day the city is witnessing large scale development. Frustrated by this, BJP is trying to spread fabricated stories against mayor Kavita Sanil.

Addressing the press here on Saturday October 28 Hegde said, "The allegation that a woman and her child were thrashed are not valid. CCTV footage itself shows what happened in the apartment where the mayor lives. It does not show that the woman or the child were thrashed. With the intention of political publicity BJP and its women's wing are trying to throw false allegations on the mayor. This shows their cheap mentality and poor political strategy.

"Two days back Roopa D Bangera and Pooja Pai visited the apartment and they were in communication with the watchman's wife for around 20 to 25 minutes. Why did the leaders then not take her to hospital? This clearly indicates that they have brainwashed the woman against the mayor.

"Through this allegation they are destroying the city's goodwill and the security of women. We are ready to show the entire CCTV footage of the last three months in order for BJP to realize their fault and confess their conspiracy."

District Congress president Harish Kumar, deputy mayor, Rajanish, corporators Naveen D'Souza, Harinath, Mahabala Marla, Sabitha Misquith and others were present.
