Mumbai, Oct 30: A trust in the memory of well known organizer and author, resident of Kirimanjeshwar, active in Mumbai Kannada Sangha, Kannada Sahitya Parishat Maharashtra unit, G D Joshi Foundation Mumbai, Chukki Sankula and several other organizations for the last two and a half decades, late Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday evening October 28 was formed at Usha Nagar apartments, Bhadup west.
In a simple programme presided over by Sridevi C Rao, chief guest, entrepreneur, social worker Venkatesh Saraf, lit the traditional lamp and set the trust in motion. Saraf opined that it is the true homage for the soul of late Chandrashekar Rao. He distributed scholarships to poor students in memory of Rao.
Dr K Raghunath, Dr Girija Shastri, Gopal Trasi, Navin Kadri, Sajjan Bengaluru, Dr Vani Uchilkar, Krishna Poojary and Arusha N Shetty recollected the service of late Chandrashekar Rao in different ways.
Dramatist Dayanand Salian welcomed everyone, delivered the keynote address, compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
