Mumbai, Oct 31 (DHNS): Days after Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis told the Shiv Sena that "it cannot be in government and opposition at the same time," the latter hit back on Tuesday saying, "see if it's fine, otherwise leave it".

As Fadnavis completed three years in office and is planning to induct veteran politician Narayan Rane - the bete noire of Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray - into the government, the war of words between the two saffron parties has escalated.

Rane resigned from the Congress Dusshera and then floated the Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha. Ahead of Diwali celebrations, he joined the NDA. Very soon, he is expected to be sworn in as a minister in the BJP-Sena alliance government.

On Tuesday, in identical editorials in Marathi mouthpiece Saamana and its Hindi tabloid version Dophar ka Saamana, titled 'see if it's fine, otherwise leave it,' Shiv Sena chose to slam Fadnavis.

Without naming prime minister Narendra Modi, the editorial said there has been an increase in unemployment after demonetisation and inflation has shot up after GST.

The government may have completed three years, but Shiv Sena is 51 years old, which means even before the BJP was born, it said.

Targeting Fadnavis, the editorial concludes, "We are wishing Devendra Fadnavis. See if it's fine, otherwise leave it. Gestures are more than enough for a wise man."
