Tata Motors logs 5% growth in October


Mumbai, Nov 1 (IANS): Automobile major Tata Motors Ltd on Wednesday said it closed October with a five per cent sales growth.

In a regulatory filing in the BSE the company said it sold 48,886 units of commercial and passenger vehicles in October, logging five per cent growth over the sales volume logged during the corresponding month in 2016.

Tata Motors' overall commercial vehicles sales in October, in the domestic market were at 32,411 units, higher by seven per cent over its 2016 figure for the same month.

Tata Motors passenger vehicles recorded sales of 16,475 units and a growth of one per cent in October over the 2016 corresponding month.

The company's sales from exports was at 4,311 units in October, a decline of 32 per cent, due to the continued drop in total industry volume in Sri Lanka (by 53 per cent) and Nepal (by 46 per cent).
