Mangaluru, Nov 2: Sri Ram Sene chief, Pramod Muthalik, revealed that he and activists of his Hindu outfit will fight the coming assembly election in the state as Shiv Sena candidates, if the dialogues being held by him with Shiv Sena president become fruitful. He gave this information during his visit to the city this week.

Muthalik said that an effort has been set rolling to build Shiv Sena in Karnataka for the all-roung progress of Hindus. "We have already held two rounds of talks with the Shiv Sena head, Uddhav Thackeray. Final round of discussions are planned in a few days, and a final decision would be announced shortly," he explained.

Muthalik revealed that some leading personalities owing allegiance to his outfit will fight under the banner of Shiv Sena if they get an opportunity do so. He said that even if the talks with Shiv Sena fail, his activists will be fielded as independent candidates, and their aim will be to achieve the welfare of Hindu community. "We had conducted survey about the popularity of Sri Ram Sene, and found that we have strong support in Sringeri, Chikkamagaluru, Vijayapura city, Belagavi and some other places. Therefore, there is no doubt that we will field candidates wherever our candidates have a bright chance of becoming victorious," he stated.

Muthalik said that he would prefer to enter into an electoral understanding with BJP, if that party is agreeable for it. He added that so far BJP has not given any indication of their willingness to enter into alliance with his outfit. "Let us wait and see what happens," he said.

Sri Ram Sene cozying up to Shiv Sena appears interesting because of strong pro-Maharashtra stance of Shiv Sena in border and language issues, and how Sri Ram Sene will cope with Shiv Sena's political compulsions to stay committed to its anti-Karnataka stand in several matters.
