Mangalore, Jun 22: Past rivalry is said to be the motive behind the murder of a youth at Kodakkal in Alape village on Saturday, June 21.

The deceased has been identified as Jitendra, resident of Kodakkal. Sources informed that a heated argument took place one Yuvaraj and the deceased on the night of June 20.

Supposedly, the former attacked the latter with a piece of wood which resulted in serious injury. Though Jitendra was immediately taken to a private hospital in the city, he succumbed to his injuries at about 2.30 pm on Saturday. Kankanady police have registered the case and arrested Yuvaraj.
