Ahmedabad, Nov 5 (DHNS): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday took a jibe at Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, saying that the Congress leader had no knowledge of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
He also hit out at the Congress for what he called using persons from terrorist outfits to fight elections in the state in past."He (Rahul Gandhi) does not have any knowledge about the subject nor has he studied it properly. Also he needs to remember that all the chief ministers of Congress have unanimously approved implementation of GST in the country," finance minister, who was in Ahmedabad to attend to party work being party incharge for elections in Gujarat Assembly polls. He was replying to a question about Rahul calling GST 'Gabbar Singh Tax' during his multiple visits to the state.
He also derided the Congress for attacking "development" during its poll campaign. "This is perhaps for the first time that any political party is running down development. Our political idiom consistently has been of development and progress. While the Congress, during last three elections in the state has fought only against one man and badmouthing one state. They misused the CBI and even used anti-nationals having links with Lashkar-e-Toiba in this endeavour and used entire state machinery to fight BJP leadership," he alleged, calling the Congress attempt to call development having gone beserk in Gujarat as a "dangerous" precedent.
"Development helps all and to run down development in one of the most progressive state is going to fall flat and when everything has failed in its fight against development they have spread poison of dividing the state on the basis of casteism. This is going to backfire for them. We will win hands down in Gujarat," the finance minister said.
