2 held in Libya for fueling conflict

Tripoli, Nov 5 (IANS): Two Libyans have been arrested over involvement in fueling conflicts in favour of a foreign country, a security force of the UN-backed Government in Tripoli said.

"The Special Deterrent Force managed to arrest two Libyans from the city of Sabratha for their involvement in fueling conflicts in favor of a foreign country in coordination with some military leaders in the area," Xinhua news agency quoted the force as saying in a statement.

"The force is working on completing the investigation."

The force said that the confessions of the two arrested would be published soon.

The western city of Sabratha, some 70 km west of the capital Tripoli, has witnessed three weeks of violence that broke out in September between rival armed groups.
