Bantwal: Wheel of auto falls off - passenger dies

Bantwal, Nov 5: After the front wheel of a moving auto rickshaw got separated from its axis, a passenger lost his life while three others suffered injuries. This accident occurred on Saturday November 4 near Budoli in the taluk on national highway 75.

The deceased was Dinesh (40), son of Chennappa Poojary from Bollukallu in Peraje village in the taluk. Driver of the three-wheeler, Chandappa alias Baby, survived with minor injuries. 

Dinesh along with his wife and children had visited the parental home of his wife at Sera in Kadeshivalaya village. He was returning home on Saturdau when the front wheel of the auto rickshaw suddenly got separated from the body and the three-wheeler instantly tumbled. Dinesh, who was thrown out of the auto rickshaw, suffered serious injuries as the vehicle got deposited on his body. He breathed his last on the spot, eyewitnesses said.

Dinesh's wife, Jayanthi, and daughters, Manisha and Shanvi, escaped with minor nicks and cuts. Chandappa stands admitted into the government hospital at Puttur.  The body of Dinesh was kept in the mortuary of the government hospital at Puttur.

Vittal police have registered the case.
