Vasco-bound Tempo Knocks School Boy to Death near Fatroda

Margao, Jun 24: A ten-year-old boy Prathmesh Prakash Naik, resident of Chandrawado-Fatorda died in the afternoon on Tuesday June 24, after a tempo allegedly ran over him at N D Naik Garage at Chandrawado, Fatorda.

According to the police, Prathmesh was student of Holy Spirit School in Margao and was studying in fifth standard. On Tuesday he was going to his house after getting down from the bus after the school hours, when a Vasco-bound tempo ran over him. He died on the spot.

Following this, irked people tried to set tempo onfire. But their attempt was foiled by police, as they reached the spot soon after receiving the phone call.

Meanwhile the driver of the tempo, Sheikh Intiaz, fled from the place and surrendered himself at Ponda police station which is at a distance of 19 kms from the accident spot. Margao police sub-inspector Navlesh Desai is investigating the case.
