Moodbidri, Nov 9: MLA and Kambala Samiti president, K Abhayachandra Jain, said that the celebratory Kambala being held on the happy occasion of fresh lease of life Kambala has been achieved due to the passage of an ordinance to that affect. It will be held at Koti-Chennaya Jodukare Kambala stadium at Kadalakere here on Saturday November 11.
"The Kambala will be inaugurated at 8 am that day. A meeting programme is scheduled to be held at 6 pm the same evening. The meeting will be presided over by the chief minister, while ministers, D K Shivakumar, T B Jayachandra, B Ramanath Rai, H M Revanna, Pramod Madhwaraj, A Manju, U T Khader, Rajya Sabha member, Oscar Fernandes, former chief minister, M Veerappa Moily, MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Vasant Bangera, Sunil Kumar, Mohiuddin Bava, J R Lobo, Shakuntala Shetty, MLAs, Pratapchandra Shetty and Ivan D'Souza, will be participating in it," he stated, addressing a press conference here on Wednesday November 8.
Jain informed that SCDCC Bank and Cooperative Apex Bank chairman, Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, 'Karnataka Kreedaratna' awardees, Kolachur Kondottu Sukumar Shetty, Jayakar Madivala Nakre, Dr Jeevandhar Ballal and Kolakke Irvathur Anand, will be felicitated. Tulu film stars, Devadas Kapikad, Vijayakumr Kodiyalbail, Naveen D Padil and Bhojaraj Vamanjor, Arvind Bolar, Arjun Kapikad apart from pro Kabaddi player, Sukesh Hegde, will be present. He also informed that Tulunadu traditional food will be served to 10,000 people on November 11 afternoon.
"Winning pairs of buffaloes in different sections of the competitions like Kanehalage, Addahalage Hagga, Negilu, junior sections etc will be eligible to receive gold coins and cash prizes," he added.
Gunapal Kadamba, Suresh Prabhu, Ratnakar Moily and several others were present at the press conference.
