Mangaluru: District level Kabaddi tournament held

Mangaluru, Nov 10: Government of Karnataka department of Pre University Dakshina Kannada district and Vikas Pre-University College jointly conducted DK district level boys and girls Kabaddi tournament on Thursday, November 9 at Vikas PU College ground.

Chairman of Vikas Education Trust, Krishna J Palemar presided over the programme and inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. Jagadeesh Kumble, NIS and Bengal Warriors coach, and Premnath Shetty, sports organizer, DK district were the chief guests of the programme. Purshotham Poojary, secretary of DK Amateur Kabaddi Association, correspondent Shripathi Rao, trustee J Koragappa, Parthasarathi J Palemar co-ordinator, Prof T Rajaram Rao, principal, Vikas PU College, and Ramesh Poojary physical education director of Vikas PU College were present.

Six boys’ and girls’ teams participated in the event. Alvas Moodbidri girls’ team won the district level kabaddi championship and SDM PU College, Ujire won the runners-up trophy. Alvas Moodbidri boys’ team won the district level kabaddi championship and Vikas PU College boys’ team won the runners-up trophy. Shruthi Bhandary, lecturer in Physics, Vikas PU College compered the programme.
