Dubai: Uriah Heep rocks UAE fans with live performance

Dubai, Nov 14: Heavy metal rockers and all-time greats Uriah Heep recently performed live at The Secret Garden at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel. This was the iconic band’s first live appearance here and the 61st country they performed live in. The event was outside their regular tour calendar which includes performances in Europe, North America and Japan. The city's show was a huge throwback to classic metal sounds of the 1970s.

Hundreds of Heep fans thronged The Secret Garden to watch Uriah Heep as founding member Mick Box and his band belted out all-time favorites Gypsy, Very ‘eavy, Very ‘Umble, Look At Yourself, Stealin, The Magician’s Birthday and Easy Living. Lead singer Bernie Shaw, Phil Lanzon (keyboards), Davey Rimmer (bass) and Russell Gilbrook (drums) delivered a splendid 90 minute performance, including classic numbers like Lady in Black, One Minute, Between Two Worlds much to the delight of the packed house full of old school and some new Heep fans.



Alongside Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, Uriah Heep was one of the most definitive bands of the 1970s, known for popular acoustic-inspired track Wizard and definitive progressive rock tune July Morning. They rose to great prominence and enjoyed a huge fan base in their heyday. The band has sold in excess of 40 million albums worldwide and continues to enjoy a great cult following to this day.

Uriah Heep’s live concert here was sponsored by Mohiudeen Wood Works Co LLC (MWW), the oldest sawmill company and largest importer of timber and logs in the Middle East.
