Icy winds chill Lucknow


Lucknow, Nov 20 (IANS): Icy winds brought down the mercury in the Uttar Pradesh state capital and nearby areas on Monday, according to the weather office.

The weather office forecast a sunny day but cautioned that the icy winds will continue.

Regional Met Director J.P. Gupta said the temperature was likely to drop further.

The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 29 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 19 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature recorded in Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Varanasi and Allahabad in the last 24 hours was 20, 22, 19.2 and 20 degrees Celsius respectively.
