New Delhi, Nov 26 (PTI): Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday cited a media report on a drop in the production of 'Nano' cars at a Gujarat plant and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pet 'Make in India' project "just died" turning Gujarati tax payers' Rs 33,000 crore into "ash".

Gandhi also asked who should be held accountable for the money becoming "ash".

The Congress vice-president has reportedly been saying that the Gujarat government had proffered "benefits" worth Rs 33,000 crore to the car project in Sanand.

"PM's pet 'Make in India' project just died. 33,000 crores of Gujarati taxpayer money turned to ash. Who is accountable?" Gandhi said on Twitter.

The Congress vice president is currently campaigning in the poll-bound state, which has been under the BJP's rule for 22 years.

The media report claimed that the average daily production of Nano cars at the Tata Motor's Sanand plant was down to "just two".

Forget what Rhaul is saying we can ignore him but we cant ignore what PM is doing ...PM has to say what he did for gujarat in 20 years and why they are large scale dissatisfaction among patels , patidars , farmers , etc s . 20 years gujarat should have been top state in every area and indictaor it was the most progressive state and most entrepruenrial ....

..this Guy ruins it every time..NANO project started nearly 5 years back(not under MAKE INDIA initiative)..it died when MAMATA played politics with Communist Govt in WB..even after completing the complete Factory set up, TATA forced to leave WB..while NANO conceived as low cost production model, WB politics ruined it & TATA incurred huge loss..Congress was in power in center it didnt do anything, then Gujrat CM MODI welcomed TATA to re-set up complete factory in Gujrat..Customer euphoria on NANO died due to delayed production..poor sale, competition eventually resulted in closing NANO brand..some one has to tell Congress VP NANO brand production stopped, TATA motor not closed..TATA motor already rolled out Luxury TIAGO/TIGOR/BOLT/HEXA model..do VP now make MODI responsible for Bajaj chetak & Ambassador car closing down also!!.kuch bhi..

This guy is hilarious and looks like had some type of nashaa. Don't he have any other agenda than pointing at a one person for everything. Take up issues which have public welfare. There are many companies which closed down their plant entirely from India during 1990-2014. Take example of Daewoo, Ambassador. Its upto companies to re-strategize their production. Atleast nothing happened to plant itself as case of west Bengal.
