New Delhi: Woman passenger, lady airline staff get into physical heckling in IGI Airport


New Delhi, Nov 28 (IANS): A woman passenger and a female staffer of Air India exchanged blows over an argument at the IGI airport on Tuesday morning.

According to a senior police official, a call to Police Control Room(PCR) was received at around 4.55 a.m. "regarding a quarrel at a checking counter at Terminal-3".

During investigation, it was found that a woman passenger, a resident of Panchkula in Haryana, had to board Air India Flight AI 019 to Ahmedabad at 05.00 hours, he said.

"She reported at 04.18 hours for check-in and was denied boarding. Argument started between her and Air India staff and the passenger slapped her. The woman staff also slapped her in retaliation,", the official added.

On its part the national carrier said in a statement: "One passenger going to Ahmedabad arrived late at airport and missed her flight. There was an argument with the counter staff and the same has now been resolved amicably."
