Mumbai, Nov 28: BSKB Association Gokula women's wing on November 25 held a cooking competition of special delicacies of Dakshina Kannada district, rice and coconut being the main ingredients at Ashraya.
The women participants of the competition gave their inventions a unique taste. They displayed sweet and hot dishes. Kusum Srinivas assisted the participants. G K Shanta Rao, Sneha Prabha Rao and Anantaraj Bhat arrived as judges. Women's wing convener Sahana Pothi helped the judges. Women's wing president Prema Rao welcomed everyone. The programme was set in motion after prayer by the children of Bala Kala Vrinda.
Children of Bala Kala Vrinda and the members sang poems by well known poets as part of Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations and conducted a quiz.
In the hall programme held later, Vijayalaxmi Suresh Rao presented flower bouquets to the judges and felicitated them. Shalini Rao, Bhagyalaxmi Chadaga and Suchitra Rao won first, second and third prizes in the spicy preparation category. Shalini Udupa, Latha Jagadish and Rajashree Rao won first, second and third prizes in the sweet dish preparation.
Secretary A P K Pothi, joint secretary P C N Rao, Vijayalaxmi Rao and Chandravathi Rao presented prizes. Prema Rao compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
