Kejriwal visits Kamla Market, orders enhanced compensation for fire-hit shopkeepers


New Delhi, Dec 2 (IANS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday visited Kamla Market in the city where a major fire gutted over 50 shops in October and ordered enhanced compensation to the affected shopkeepers. He said his government will amend the policy to provide higher compensation.

"Ordered enhanced compensation to affected shopkeepers. Will amend policy to provide higher compensation to shopkeepers affected by such incidents in future," Kejriwal said in a tweet, attaching a video of his visit to the market.

Over 50 shops and godowns were gutted in a major fire that broke out in the market on October 24.
