Mangalore, Jul 9: BJP state president D V Sadanand Gowda (DVS) has advised Deve Gowda to have a thorough relook at his past deeds before coming out with liberal advices on ethics. He needs to have to contemplate on how the number of the JD (S) legislators in the assembly swelled to 56 from the measly four in the previous hustings and again how it plummetted to just 26 now, Gowda said.
Repulsing the allegations of malpractices being heaped on his party by the Congress and the JD (S), DVS said, that these parties have paid a price for neglecting development of the state. The legislators, who are disillusioned with the attitude of their leaders who, instead of mulling over the reasons for their defeat, are aiming at creating stumbling blocks for the smooth functioning of the present government, Gowda explained.
In the best interests of the citizens of the state, the state delegation that went to New Delhi should have had members from all the political outfits. The opposition instead of extending cooperation, chose to boycott the delegation. This has happened for the first time in the state's history. BJP legislators had earlier accompanied the state delegation on issues like Kaveri, Almatti, Metro rail etc., he stated.
Saying that even district-level leaders from other parties have been inclined to join the BJP, DVS gave indication of the fact that more legislators and other leaders from different parties will cross over to his party just before the Loksabha elections. He did not choose to reply a question on the possibility of Siddaramaiah changing his allegiance to the BJP.
