Puttur, Jul 11: A person named Dayanand Kamath (65) residing at Nehrunagar near here, who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital on APMC Road, died on Thursday July 10.
As per information available, he was allotted a room in the second floor of the hospital. He died on Thursday morning after a fatal fall to the ground. Various theories about his death are making rounds. It is said that the patient who was to be discharged, committed suicide by jumping down. Another version assigns the cause of his death to loss of balance while walking down the stairs.
Curiosity of the people about the death has grown manifold for the reason that husband of Puttur MLA Mallika Prasad works in this hospital. Moreover, till late evening, no formal complaint was filed with the police station about the death.
Actual facts are expected to come out within a day or two.
