Mangalore, Jul 12: The college union of St Agnes College was inaugurated on Saturday July 12.

Fr Valerian D’Souza, director of St Joseph Engineering College, was the chief guest of the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, he advised students to give importance to service rather than one's status. There is no status without service, he added.

Sr Prem D’Souza, principal of the college, officiated the oath-taking ceremony. College union president Vatika Kamath, vice-presidents Wilinda Saldanha, Ashwini, Jyotsna and Preeti, Sr Supriya and Sr Mariya were present on the occasion.

Rita Gonsalves and Malavika Shetty introduced the new office bearers of the college union.

    I am extremely happy to see the progress in the right direction at St.Agnes College. A good Union can be very supportive to the management. I have been closely associated with St. Agnes College. I was the V.P. Of the P.T.A. of the College during the tenure of Sister Aloysius of indeed happy memory.

    Besides I happen be the brother of Sister Hedwige who was the Principal of The College several years ago. Even now I am closely in touch with Sister Linette - the Principal of The P.U. College. My good wishes are and will always be with S.A.C. Joe Gonsalves
