Victory of development over dynasty politics: BJP TN leader

Chennai, Dec 18 (IANS): BJP Tamil Nadu leader Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday termed the imminent victory of the party in the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly polls a victory of development over dynasty politics.

The two states went to the polls recently and the BJP is ahead of the Congress in both the states in the counting of votes.

Development wins against dynasty politics. BJP leads in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, Soundararajan tweeted.

This shows people's support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and people welfare focused initiatives, she added.

By dynasty she was referring to Congress President Rahul Gandhi's lineage -- great grandson of late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, grandson of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, son of late former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi -- and the party's immediate past President Sonia Gandhi.

She said after demonetisation and introduction of the Goods and Services Tax, many wrote off the BJP, but the party has gained double the strength and the opposition parties are speechless now.

Soundararajan said in the 2019 general elections too, the BJP will be victorious.
