Bangalore, Jul 14: Governor Rameshwar Thakur, who is also the Chancellor of the universities in the State, has appointed S. Ramananda Shetty, retired Director of Medical Education, as Vice-Chancellor of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences for a period of three years from the date of his assumption of office or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.

According to an official communique, the appointment was made taking into consideration the recommendation of the selection committee constituted to select a panel of names for the Vice-Chancellor’s post

    Its indeed a proud moment for Mangaloreans. Dr Shetty hailing from Kapu is the second from the family to become VC of the University. We all can hope see a better performing University under Dr Shetty as recently there were many accusations against the University. Congrats.
