Don't celebrate Christmas, Aligarh schools warned

Lucknow, Dec 19 (IANS): A Vishwa Hindu Parishad affiliated activist group on Tuesday warned schools in Aligarh of dire consequences if they celebrated Christmas.

The Hindu Jagran Manch, in a letter to all city schools, has said that if the festival is celebrated by them they would be doing it "at their own risk".

The warning has sent the jitters down the spines of missionary schools across the city who have been celebrating Christmas, the birthday of Lord Jesus Christ, with gaiety every year.

Soon after the news spread, school managements expressed concern over the warning and called for security.

"We have been celebrating Christmas for so many years and every child takes part in it so happily, how can some fringe elements decide on what is to be done and what not," said a school principal on the condition of anonymity.

Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Pandey when contacted told IANS that there was no question of allowing anyone or any group to disrupt any festivities at the city schools. "Anything that is illegal will not be allowed and such designs will be foiled," he added.

My faith is so strong, it is not depending on Christmas celebration nor on anybody's warning.... I am a Christian by birth... but when I go out of my house I should be a human being first....
Nowadays I think it is easy to celebrate any festivals in Islamic countries than in India.. when most of the countries are moving forward, we are going backward...

One more threat or trying to threaten catholic?Forget it.India is a democratic land and in democraty, one has the freedom of practicing their religion .and christmas is our festival and religous fest belongs to it .No other discussion.when one tries to not to celebrate ,then he has to tolerate it whether he wants it or not.Even hindu brothers too join it.Suppose when other religious people try to disturb it,then they should think, vote will be less, second their festival of their religion too will be disturbed.Someone is trying to turn India into mslim country like Afghanistan?

Agenda of BJP is divide and conquer. Do not let that happen. This was not the case some years back. Many non Hindus used to take part in festivals like Deepavali, Ganesh Chathurty. Many non Christians used to take part in Christmas celebrations. I remember the days when group of Christian and Hindu friends visiting a muslim friends home to enjoy the biryani on Eid. Life was so beautiful until politics brain washed many people in terms of religion. Unfortunately, many educated people came under this trap. There is no where mentioned that congress belongs to muslims and BJP belongs to Hindus. It was the seed planted by politicians for their personal gain.

All the fringe elements are having a field day as they feel confident that whatever they do, the powers at the centre and the State Govt will not interfere. Where is the Good Governance that Modi had promised. There is no rule of law in North India. Mobs are ruling the states. Hope the educated and cultured people of South India will realize that there is nothing called accountability under BJP rule. Its a free for all situation that can spiral out of hand at anytime. All patriotic citizens should rise and raise their voice against such interference and protect religous freedom.

Why there is a growing trend of creating fear in this country? All these years there was a tradition of celebrating festivals of all religions with no criminalizing was attached to any celebration. Does our Government know that a Nation cannot be strengthened by fear and intimidation of other communities and religions? Diversity is our strength and not a sign of our weakness.

Is this the victory of BJP? Do we cause any problems when any other religion celebrate their feasts? We instead join them in their happiness wishing them all the goodness from our God. Why Vishwa Hindu Parishad always creating problem for us Christians/Catholics when we celebrate our feasts and now Christmas, which is the Celebration of birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We need the government to take stern action against these people and give security to the people, religious nuns, priests and churches. We are Indians and have the freedom to celebrate our feasts. We do not cause any harm to anyone. Modiji, can you please pass a law in this regard and warn this group from doing any harm to Christians/Catholics, not only here but all over the country.

Sorry to see denying the happy/cheerful & peaceful moments to poor & innocent children ....!!!! In my good olden days i still remember that my teacher told that Lord Jesus Christ was born as the prince of PEACE...,

In my view, the school management should give up in the interest of peace among people which is the right action by the follower of the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ ..,

Let the Lord Brahma judge & decide the fate of such (vulnerable) Hindu people who threatening ...,

Is Hinduism become so much vulnerable..., that too under the leader ship of Yogi's/Baba's.., & the Hindu Hriday Samrat Shri Modiji..., In my opinion for a right thinking secular mind set Hindu's these kind of reactions give rise to believe that the perpetrators & their mentor organization follow/proclaim FEKU Hinduism...,

In my view, these kind of threats, bringing bad reputation to Hinduism..., in other words merging Hinduism values with Hardline philosophy of North western region (Hind-Kush) of ancient Akhand Bharat.
