Mangaluru, Dec 27: 13 students from Expert PU College, here, have been selected in the KVPY examination 2017 conducted by the Science and Technology department by the Government of India.
The following students have been selected for the last round: Abhijna B R, Mangaluru; M M Chanchal, Mangaluru; Kavana T, Davangeri; Aaral Alisia Monterio, Mangaluru;
Shreya Bhat, Mangaluru; S M Santosh, Ballari; S Guhan, Mangaluru; Akshatha M Kamath Ammembala, Mangaluru from Kodialbail and Smruthi P, Shivamogga; Pareekshith H L, Mandya; Tarun B L, Kolar; Vinutha S Gadag, Haveri; R Chinmay, Bellary from Valachil.
Selected students, who continue their education in the basic science stream will be provided with scholarship of Rs 80,000 - Rs 1,12,000 per annum. The selected students are qualified to avail seats in the prestigious educational institutes namely: Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru; Indian Research Institute of Science Education and Research etc and many others. The KVPY exam includes written oral and other formats of examination.
10 students from Expert PU College, Mangalore have been selected in the Olympiad exam. They are: Abhijna BR, Mangaluru (Chemistry and Biology); M M Chanchal, Mangaluru (Biology); Bhoomika H K Chikkamagaluru (Biology); S Guhan, Mangaluru (Biology); S.M Santhosh, Bellary (Biology); Akshatha M Kamath Ammembal, Mangaluru (Physics, Biology) from Kodialbail and Abhinav Raj, Hariyana (Chemistry); Bhavana V Mysuru (Biology); Parikshith H L, (Chemistry, Biology) from Valachil, Tarun B L, Kolar.
The chairman of Expert Group of Institutions, Prof Narendra L Nayak, vice chairperson, Usha Prabha N Nayak, principal of Kodialbail College Prof Ramachandra Bhat and principal of Valachil College Dr N K Vijayan congratulated all the students who have qualified in the KVPY and Olympiad Examinations.
