Mangaluru, Dec 28: Soumya, an upcoming talent from Sarapady, Bantwal, is slowly taking giant steps towards stardom in the cinema world.
Soumya is the proud daughter of Sanjeev and Sulochana. Soumya completed her diploma in computer science engineering from a college at Bondel. From her school days, Soumya was always inclined towards sports and drama which brought laurels to her name.
Soumya was first seen in short movies such as ‘Desham’ and yet to release ‘Esal’. She was also part of ‘Varkathunda’ drama team and performed on several occasions.
The big screen soon beckoned Soumya as she made her debut in a supporting role in Tulu film 'Ambar Caterers'. Soumya will be seen in the much awaited Coastalwood film ‘Kori Rotti’, ‘Appe Teacher’ and ‘Pammane the Great’. Soumya will also be seen in Sandalwood movies like ‘DK Boss’ and ‘Samhar’ which are yet to hit the screens.
Soumya has represented the national throwball team and also the state handball team.
Speaking to daijiworld.com, Soumya said, "I was passionate about acting from a young age. I have acted in several regional language drama and short movies so far. I have had great experience acting with well known actors as they were very kind enough to support me. I am looking forward to act in lead roles. My family has been a constant support for me to get into this field and encouragement from friends has played a major role in keeping me motivated.”
