BJP moves privilege motion against Rahul for 'mocking' Jaitley

New Delhi, Dec 28 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday moved a privilege motion in the Rajya Sabha against Congress President Rahul Gandhi for "mocking" Finance Minister Arun Jaitley by "twisting" his name.

BJP member Bhupendra Yadav moved the motion under Rule 187, against Gandhi and urged the Chair to take notice of the alleged breach of Jaitley's privilege, who is also the Leader of the House.

"The members of this House have dignity. The name of Leader of the House Arun Jaitley has been intentionally published by the Congress President with malafide intentions to defame this House," Yadav told the Chair.

"The way his (Jaitley's) name has been twisted by the Congress President on his Twitter handle, it comes in the category of (breach of) privilege. There are precedents such as that of N.C. Chatterjee in 1954. I request you to go to this precedent and issue notice to Rahul Gandhi," he added.

Referring to a statement given by Jaitley in the House on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi had tweeted: "Dear Mr Jaitlie (sic)- thank you for reminding India that our PM never means what he says or says what he means."

Jaitley on Wednesday made a statement in the House clarifying Prime Minister Narendra Modi's position vis-a-vis his "conspiring with Pakistan" comments against his predecessor Manmohan Singh in order to end an impasse.

"The statement (by Modi) did not question nor did he mean to question the commitment to the nation of Manmohan Singh or Hamid Ansari, the former Vice President. Any such perception is completely erroneous. We hold these leaders in high esteem as also their commitment to the nation," Jaitley had said.

The Finance Minister made the statement as part of an understanding with the Congress party over the issue, that had led to stalling of the Rajya Sabha and disruptions in Lok Sabha for several days with the party demanding an apology or explanation from Modi.

The Congress also reciprocated by disapproving Mani Shankar Aiyar's criticism of the Prime Minister after which the House resumed normal business.

India with nearly 2000 languages and dialect spoken one can spell the same name in differently if one move around North to South, East to West.
This is the deliberate attempt by BJP in order to diffuse and divert the deadlock in Rajya Sabha imposed by Opposition party over the comment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the opposition demanding that PM Modi apologise and explain his allegation that Dr Singh and other Congress leaders had conspired with Pakistanis at a dinner party to try and ensure a BJP defeat in the Gujarat elections.
Late in the evening, Mr Gandhi tweeted, "Dear Mr Jaitlie - thank you for reminding India that our PM never means what he says or says what he means." The tweet was accompanied by a video of the relevant portion of the Prime Minister's "conspiracy with Pakistan" speech, made at the height of the campaign for Gujarat assembly elections.
The BJP must have forgotten Narendra Modi's teleprompter fail puts him in hallowed company
While greeting visiting Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and his wife, Modi committed quite a gaffe, by calling the visiting first lady, M.R.S. Sirisena. Neither Sri Lankan government ignored instead of diplomatically protesting.
BJPians India is diverse country. Region to region dialect from the same language changes.
Is this cheap mentality of the party to burn precious hours of house of Parliament?
Use the Parliament hours for meaningful cause which can really take the nation to the 'development'.

"It has been my general practice not to respond to motivated criticism directed personally t me. My general attitude has been Hazaaron Jawabon Se Acchi Hai Meri Khamoshi, Na Jaane Kitne Sawalon Ki Aabru Rakhe." - Former PM Manmohan Singh

Please don't forget that PM Modi & BJP IT cell use to address the PM Manmohan Singh 'Manu Mohan Singh' and Rahul Gandhi 'Pappu'.
Now BJP has tasted their own dossier they are having trouble of 'Motion' in nation ' Toilets' are scarce.

Jaitley could be member of the house artificially made not democratically elected by the people in any way at any time, so not much significance on this matter. Party can pick and choose any nincompoop to its advantage doesn't mean people should fall prostrate to them.

You can abuse Modi.. Modi has been abused for 15 long years with all kinds of filthy words no one in the world has ever got.. still lModi is generous and does not take you to court. he may just smile back at you. you don't get a personality like Modi in your life.

But Jetley may not be as big hearted as Modi.. so don't get into trouble with Jetley. ask kujli on his experiment with Jetley.
