Bangalore, Jul 17: "In spite of having full knowledge of persons who were involved with anti-party activities during the recent assembly election, I am not empowered to reveal these details to the high command," lamented Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Mallikarjun Hegde.
He was addressing a preliminary meeting organized at the KPCC office for drawing up the party's strategies in the ensuing Brahut Banglore Mahanagara Palike and Loksabha elections, on Wednesday.
"I did not have control on things including ticket distribution. I have information about the Congress leaders who have worked against the interests of the party by splitting the party. But the party has not empowered me to divulge these details before the high command," Kharge revealed.
Because of some mistakes committed by the local leaders in particular and party in general, Congress was badly beaten in the election. Even if Congress had secured 10 more seats, the political scenario in the state would have been totally different. "Party is above personal considerations. Hence, please sink whatever differences you have about the choice of the candidate in the coming elections and work for the victory of the party. Please do not try to settle scores relating to personal rivalries," he requested his party men. He also advised them to exercise self control and discuss with him before making open their opinions and problems.
