New York: Fr Denzil Lobo for API Inaugural in New York on July 24

Daijiworld Media Network - New York (CN)

New York, Jul 19: Aloysian Partners International (API), the apex body uniting all the Aloysian associations throughout the world, will be inaugurated on Thursday July 24, 2008, at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, New York.

A talk on ‘A strategic plan for the Aloysian Business School and the SAC endowment fund’, by Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, director, MBA and IT department, St Aloysius College (SAC), is part of the programme. The event is being organized by the SAC alumni in NY.

A plan of action has been drawn up by this dedicated group of alumni seeking to partner with the API in the interests of furthering the long term plans for the creation of St Aloysius School of Business, as a separate entity. This plan also outlines the goals, besides addressing issues like funding, organization, structure, marketing, and promotion, of this ambitious project.

During his visit to the US, Fr Lobo will also attend the international meeting of the directors of Jesuit B-schools at Fordham University, New York.

Dear Fr.Denzil, I wish you all the best and pray to God to give you great strength and success in whatever work you do with your cheerful smiling. I remember Fr.Denzil very well and his teaching. He was teaching Chemistry when I was studying B.Sc at that time.

He was very cheerful and handsome teacher with great accent and all the boys used to tease him, coz ours was first batch of girls in SAC. I’m also proud that I’m SAC student and our college really given the confidence to boost my career. I’m also thankful to SAC for sending regular newsletter.

Hearty congratulations to Fr Denzil Lobo and wish him every success in his foreign trip. I remember him for his ever smiling face. Way back in 1987-88, when I was studying B Com in St Aloysius College, a student approached him and said "Fr, will you please do a favour for me?". Fr Lobo: "Sure." Student: (Teasingly) "Please pray for me". ( I expected Fr Lobo to get agitated). But, Fr smilingly, as ever, agreed to pray for him.

I am indeed happy that many of Our Aloysians are doing such a wonderful job.I am integral part of APNA as well as API. These bodies which made a tiny start have grown at phenomenal speed. We are all beneficiaries of St. Aloysius College and whatever we are doing is a meager return for so much that we have received from our gurus.

Victor, Father Ozzie and others are past Aloysians but what is admirable is the fact that Prem Watsa who is not an Aloysian is fully supporting Our Alma Mater. Prem's theory is that his father received education at the hands of the Jesuit Fathers of sacred memory - and because of the education that his father had at SAC he was in turn able to educate the son (Prem) This message therefore is not just for the Aloysians but also for all Well Wishers. LONG LIVE ST. ALOYSIUS AND MAY THE ALOYSIAN FLAG FLY HIGH. Joe Gonsalves (Aloysian)
