Mangalore: Safiya Murder Case - Autopsy Confirms Lynching

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (S)

Mangalore, Jul 19: Official sources have said that the post mortem examination reports have confirmed that Safiya was hit with a heavy lethal weapon she was in standing position.

If this is true, the statements so far given by the main accused Hamza to the police team investigating the minor's death, will prove to be a bundle of lies. Hamza had said, that Safiya suffered serious burn injuries after boiling gruel fell on her and he disposed her body by cutting into three pieces after finding her dead later that day. The investigation was proceeding towards examining the veracity of this statement.

The finding that the girl was hit when she was standing, will give a twist to the ongoing investigations. It is gathered, that the post mortem examination has confirmed that the death was caused by a fatal strike on her neck by a sharp object.

Kozhikode Medical College forensic expert Dr Sherley Vasu had conducted post mortem examination of the skeletal remains of Safiya dug out from a place in Goa. A detailed report will reach the crime branch intelligence bureau in about three days.

In the meanwhile, the relatives of murdered Safiya have requested the high court to impound the passports of K C Hamza from Muliyar Mastikundu here and his wife Maimoona. They feel that Hamza and his wife may flee to some foreign country for hiding once they get bail from the court.

Crime branch should not depend upon the statements of the accused. Finish the investigation and punish Hamza and team in such a way that nobody can imagine that kind of murder anymore
