State Govt Amalgamates Public Libraries with Art & Culture Directorate

Panaji Jul 19:  In a major decision state Government has de-linked all public libraries in the state of Goa including Central Library from Directorate of School Education and amalgamate the same with Directorate of Art & Culture along with assets and liabilities.

By virtue of the merger, all the sanctioned strength of posts (filled as well as vacant) existing in Public Libraries and Central Library shall stand transferred from the Directorate of School Education to the Directorate of Art and Culture.

One post of Upper Division Clerk (vacant) and one post of Lower Division Clerk (filled-in) dealing with library matters in the head office of Education Department shall also stand transferred from the Directorate of School Education to the Directorate of Art and Culture.
